Jacquard Denim Overshirt - Indigo
Woven in Ibara, Okayama prefecture, a city renowned fortis exceptional production of high-quality denim, this denim jacquard fabric features a truly unique rose pattern that is achieved by an automated method of weaving where intricate patterns are created in the fabric, a method that dates back all the way back to 1801 where an attachment was installed to the looms and by using a series of punch cards, the looms could be instructed to skip a pass of either the warp or weft thread, in turn, creating a pattern in the fabric.
The warp is rope dyed in indigo, the method most commonly used in the production of denim, and the weft is hank dyed, a much slower and more labour intensive process. Post-construction the whole garment is bleached to lighten the indigo and create that timeworn look. Cut in a relaxed silhouette, making it ideal for wearing as both a shirt or a lightweight jacket.
