The Fall/Winter season is when Mano Katsutada is unreservedly able to express his vision of Amekaji - the Tokyo interpretation of the American & American Indian-inspired style through the medium of his own brand, Rats. Challenging the norms of product design and brand identity, Mano has continuously added his own exclusive stamp to what are seen as iconic Americana classics.
The colder winter months allow for more layers and heat-retaining heavyweight fabrics, the ideal rotation for any 2-wheel enthusiast. Motorcycle culture has played a massive part in not only the conception of the brand but also how each collection has been represented to-date. The FW22 collection sees the welcome return of a handful of reworked items including their Classic Cross Neck Hoodie and Cotton Ombré Check Shirt as well as the conception of some brand-new lines like the Blanket Lined Denim Jacket, Wind Proof Overalls and Moleskin Coverall.
Rats products are Mano’s reflection of growing up in Harajuku, where his time was spent rolling around with motorcycle clubs, running bars and chewing the fat with heads who would later go on to bring to pass the Ura-hara cultural movement.
